We have a dispensary at our Auckley site. To meet the criteria you must live more than one mile from the nearest pharmacy. We are able to dispense medication to patients living within our catchment area, please allow 2 working days for us to issue, prepare and dispense your medication.
The dispensary is open Monday - Friday 8am - 5.45pm (with the exception of some Wednesday afternoons when we are closed for staff training)
We have trained dispensers who will request the prescription from the doctor or nurse, they will manage repeat prescription requests and prepare and check the medication, before you collect your medication.
Dispensing staff are also responsible for process drug orders, monitoring and maintaining stock levels and recording information for dispensing purposes only.
Please allow 48 hours for your prescription so adequate safety checks can be carried out.
Please only order the medications you need as once the medication has left the dispensary they cannot be put be into stock and will need to be disposed of, even if you have not opened the box. Check you have everything you need before leaving.

We may also invite you for a review of your medication, this covers compliance and consistency. We look at how you actually use your medication, if you understand why you take the medication, discuss any side effects or reactions you may have, address ineffective use and obtain your feedback.
How to obtain an urgent prescriptions - when the surgery is closed.
You can either visit you local retail pharmacy , they may be able to provide you with an emergency supply particularly if they have previously dispensed to you.
